RAFAC Air Cadets Cumbria & Lancashire Wing

RAFAC Air Cadets Cumbria & Lancashire Wing

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is a nationwide Cadet force with squadrons throughout the country.  Two local squadrons 128 (Barrow in Furness) and 2223 (Ulverston) are looking for volunteers to help run the squadrons, both squadrons parade twice a week.

Since recovering from the effects of the Covid-19 lockdown, cadet numbers are rising and we need adult volunteers to help run the squadron, either as a Civilian Instructor or as a member of the Civilian committee.

Scope for Civilian Committee Member

The Committees function is to raise funds to help pay for the cadets’ extra activities, outside normal parade nights, such as attending RAF Cosford Air Show, Blackpool Seaside Air Show or the National Arboretum and such similar aviation and Royal Air Force related events that require money to attend.

The Committee composition is mainly parents and guardians, but anyone with a few hours to spare can come along and join the Civilian Committee, all members of the committee would have to be DBS cleared.

The Committee meets once every 4-6 weeks for a 2-hour strategy/planning meeting and the only time you would be required to assist would be in the fundraising events on the days they occur.  The committee comprises of all the usual posts, and you would be welcome to add any expertise you have, to the group for the benefit of the squadron.
